Dr. Kate Annett-Hitchcock

Dr. Kate Annett-HitchcockDr. Kate is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management, Wilson College of Textiles, at North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on clothing for health and well-being; product development for differently-abled populations, and historical and cross-cultural inspirations on fashion design.

She has authored peer-reviewed articles, presentations and book chapters, mostly on clothing product development for special populations, and smart clothing technologies. She is committed to women in entrepreneurship and has founded startups in the fashion and textile product arena. She is also a musician and performs locally with two bands.

Dakota Batch

 

Dakota Batch is a doctoral student in the Wilson College of Textiles at NC State University.

Dakota received her Masters of Science in  Textiles from NC State and her current dissertation research focuses on examining support systems of female entrepreneurs living in rural counties of North Carolina.  Dakota has learned she enjoys connecting business owners with the resources they need to thrive and succeed.
